When the monumental breeding programs of Al Shaqab and Om El Arab unite, undeniable beauty, authentic breed type and victory are bound to follow. Now when Dana Al-Meslemani and Hilke Cécile De Bruycker of Al Thumama Stud chose to breed World Champion Wadee Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab x OFW Mishaahl) to Om El Bellatrix (Om El Shahmaan x Om El Berenice Dream), a mare with three traces to the aristocrat and "breed queen" Estopa, the stunning Belladonna AT was born embodying all the above mentioned traits and more.
Through the countless exchange of cellphone photos and videos, I have had the privilege of watching Belladonna AT grow up from a beautiful foal into a gorgeous yearling. So it came as no surprise to me when I heard that this bay beauty used her good looks, poise and attitude to take home the Gold Champion Yearling Filly title at the Qatar International a few hours ago.
The Qatar International show was the platform used to reveal Belladonna to the world, a revealing that will serve as a lasting memory for the team at Al Thumama Stud as well as a catalyst for this stunning filly's future career.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Belladonna AT, Dana, Hilke, Tom Oben and everyone at Team Al Thumama. I have a feeling that this is simply the first of many to come.
