*GR Shawan

Dear Breeder,

We would like to introduce our newest acquisition to our breeding program. His name is *GR Shawan. Shawan is a straight Egyptian colt bred by Erwin and Annette Escher of Rothenberg Arabians of Germany (aka Gestut Rothenberg). He is a grey and was born in 2005.

Shawan is a strikingly handsome colt and was selected to be the replacement for his sire, Classic Shadwan. Like Classic Shadwan, Shawan will have an abundance of type, and he will be tall, well balanced and elegant. Shawan is very showy with excellent movement and very high tail carriage. Classic Shadwan is very fertile, and *GR Shawan is quite fertile as a two years old stallion! He has his first mares in foal already on our farm and is producing pregnancies with shipped chilled semen.

Classic Shadwan’s dam, Shagia Bint Shadwan, was bred in Egypt, and to our knowledge her bloodlines have been largely unavailable to breeders in the United States.

*GR Shawan’s dam is the very feminine and also tall and elegant, Dalima Shah. She is sired by Ansata Halim Shah and out of a daughter of *Ibn Moniet El Nefous.
